MOL has 130 years experience in China. It began with the steam-vessel "HIDEYOSHI MARU" in 1878, which transported coal from Mi`ike, Japan to Shanghai. Today, China is a key exporter of coal but MOL continues its role as one of the key carriers for China coal exports.
Since the end of the 19th century, MOL (former "OSK Lines") has provided liner services between China and Japan. Ports of coverage included Dalian, Tianjin, Shanghai, Hankou (Wuhan), Fuzhou, Xiamen, Guangzhou etc., with both passengers and cargo transportation.
